Ponco Island

Saturday was spent on the sea! A little over one hour outside Jakarta this island can be found. The water was so blue and nice!
We were playing with jetski's and went swimming. The water was really salt though so my eyes hurt as fluff...

Doctor

I got the flu after we came from Bali. I had this terrible pressure in my face so I went to the doctor.
The first "doctor" thought it was just the sun cuz I was a little red in my face, but I said no it's not the sun. Then he called for another doctor that said it was my sinuses and I had an infection. They had to take xrays to be sure so after pictures and stuff I got medicine and got to go home.
So this is how I look "nude"! Hah

Oh and this is how they give you medicine in Indonesia! Not really like in Finland...

Events

This weekend I attended my first events here! Early on Saturday morning we started driving towards Bandung! The event was organized by the Porshe club in Indonesia, so 5 porshes drove in 180km/h from Jakarta, thought I was gonna die.. but the traffic started so then we had to slow down thank god! A bit outside Bandung we also met up with other cars!

When we arrived at Bandung we had breakfast and after that we went to the Porshe Club, the owner of the club owned 300 cars!!! Not only Porshe but a lot of other nice cars too! After this we went back to Jakarta.

On Sunday we went for an event in a Mall were some cars were showcased. Two of our Ferraris and one Lamborghini was there! And a lot of other nice cars!

And even I got to be on photo with some cars! A guy even asked me if I wanted to come and be a model for him! haha

First Week

First week in Jakarta is soon over. Though we have an event in the weekend so working also then. Have had all kinds of food this week, Indonesian, Chinese, Western and Japanese. They have a lot of restaurants here were you can eat as much as you want and you can cook at the table. This is a chinese restaurant were you cook the ingredients you want.

This week I have also sang some karaoke, who knew asians loves to sing karaoke! ;) They even have private rooms for karaoke!

Later I will show you were I live. You have already seen the view from the apartment so I will show you some pics of the house and insides. Laters!

Indonesia

It has been a busy couple of days now! On Thursday I left Vaasa heading towards Jakarta. It was a long flight with a few connecting flights. I arrived to Jakarta at midnight Finnish time, which means 4am Indonesian time. Before I had the key to my apartment and went to bed it was 6.30. Only to wake up at 10 again to go visit the company where I will be working.
I met some really nice people on the first day and we went for some traditional indonesian lunch/food. All food are quite spicy here but so far so good!

After the lunch I went with two girls from the office to a shopping mall in Central Jakarta. I could easily get lost there! I don't know if it was 8 or 9 floors, it was HUGE! We went shopping for some stuff for my apartment and other stuff!
We came home at 11 in the evening and I was so tired so I slept til 10 in the morning!

My morning view from the 31st floor!

Sunday was spent first at the shopping mall at my apartment. I basically live on top of a shopping mall so when I'm bored you will know where to find me! After lunch me and M went to a shopping mall in West Jakarta, the Central Park. I joined her for church just to see how different it was. First of all the "church" was in the mall, then there was a band playing, people singing and a pastor preaching! They asked me where I was from and the guy talking thanked me for joining from Finland. It was quite fun, except for not understanding when they were speaking indonesian.

After this we went to shop a little more and to have dinner. Penne Bolognese, thank god for some western food in Indonesia! When I came home I wanted to watch a movie but surprise surprise the internet in this country is not the best so no movies for 3 months... ^^ I guess I have a lot of time to do my thesis now!

Indonesia

Sorry for been bad in updating but lately has been a bit crazy busy with all kinds of stuff!
I will leave for Indonesia 30th of april! Gonna be there on an internship for 3 months!
Therefore I am now also emptying my apartment and putting all my stuff at my parents.
Then I have work and school and other stuff I need to take care of...
I'm so excited for Indonesia! Can't wait to go!! :D I will probably photobomb every post I write there!

Yoogaia.com

I got to be a part of Buzzador's campaign of Yoogaia.com and I am allowed to try it for free for 1 month. If you don't know Buzzador from before please go check it out! You get to be apart of free campaigns and in return you grade the products or services that you try.
I tried Yoogaia on Monday and it's amazing! What could be better than get yoga and pilates classes in your own livingroom?! At least then you don't have to feel awkward for breathing loudly or sweating like a pig or other embarrassing moments that might occur at the gym :D
So for people who want to have it comfortable with a service delivered at home it's perfect! I will definitely consider paying for it after the month is up!

Oh and I have been sewing something, that is way there are scissors and thread in the background, hehe...

Internship

I started my internship on monday and the first week has already gone by!
I was lucky enough to also get to do my thesis for the company so hopefully i will be graduating before December then (:
Today I will be volunteering at Ritz in Vaasa so come watch the show they have there tonight!

Have a lovely weekend!

Winter Holiday

My winter holiday has been quite short.. Last day of school was last wednesday and tomorrow is the last day, which will be spent shopping in Tampere!
I have mostly been outside the last couple of days. Done some cross country skiing, some snowboarding, making some sausages and corns at a lake and a little geocaching!
Have a nice Winter Holiday everyone! (:

Valentine's Day

For Valentine's Day I bobught myself some flowers, I thought I deserved it and who else would buy them?!
The program for the evening was Fifty Shades of Grey with the girls at the cinema and afterwards we went for a drink... or four to a local pub.

Walking on Ice

A cold sunny winter day in Vaasa has to be appreciated on the ice! The ice is probably thick enough for a car to drive on it, but still I was afraid! Especially when it was cracking a bit...

Beautiful me always making a face!

Nutella Day

Thursdays Nutella day was celebrated with Crêpes, both salty and sweet, and some fresh spring rolls. I though I was gonna roll down the stairs when I went home, that's how full I was! ^^

Moules Frites

Saturday me and three classmates were to Brasserie & Bar Fondis to eat. Two of us had Mussels with Fries, or Moules Frites as they call them in Belgium. It was amazingly good, almost like in Belgium when I ate them there. Mussels with some white wine is the best! Can't wait to go and eat these again! :D

Now I have been sick also for several days.. I don't have time to be sick...

No One is Perfect

This weeks wise words!

I may not be perfect but parts of me are pretty awesome!

Noodles with Shrimps and Mango

I found this really good recipe online for a noodle salad, but changed it a little though according to my supplies :D

0,5 Mango
100gr Shrimps
100gr Surimi
1 tablespoon Sesame seeds
150-200gr Green beans
100gr Noodles, I used rice noodles

Marinade:
1 tablespoon Ginger, freshly grated
1 tablespoon Soya sauce
1 Clove of Garlic, crushed
1 teaspoon Sesame oil
2 teaspoons Rice Vinegar
0,5 Chilipaprika, chopped

1. Roast the sesame seed in a dry and hot frying pan. Peel the shrimps and chop the surimi. Boil the beans a little. Rinse them with cold water. Peel the mango and cut the fruitmeat of it, cut it in thin slices. Put shrimps, surimi, beans and mango in a serving bowl.
2. Mix the marinade and pour it over the shrimp mix.
3. Boil the water for the noodles with a little salt, and cook the noodles according to the instructions. Pour of the water. Cut the noodles with scissors so they are easier to eat. Put them with the shrimps, put the sesame seeds on top and SERVE AND ENJOY! (: Can be served with some good bread!
