Gamylis

Saturday was spent in the spirit of Gamylis. Which is a student event for older students, that is second year and further. During the day we had about 12 stations to get to and perform a task of some kind. The pic below is our team of 8 amazing fun people. I still think we had the best team even though we didn't win any prices. We even had our own songs to go with our team name and everything, so the team spirit was on top!

7 Months

It is almost over 7 months that I haven't seen my classmate S, since she went to Austrailia for an internship and I went to Indonesia just before she returned home. So now that I have been home for almost 2 months we met at Raawka in Vaasa. Its a really small, and super cute place, which serves raw food. The day's salad was a huge plate with quinoa, and different vegetables. It was really good, better than expected! Though it took a while to eat the whole plate as we were talking so much and catching up on almost everything that had happened in 7 months.
Now its also time to work really hard on my thesis if I want to graduate in December. I got an email from my teacher saying that the first draft of the thesis has to be done by 7th of November if we want ot graduate this year... So I better get to it! I still have some theory to write and then to interview some people.

Ritz

In Vaasa there is a place called Ritz, that organizes  cultural events, movies and other fun stuff. Me and my sister is active members there, which means that we work voluntarily and we get to go see all the event for free. This place is very cozy and has a large stage for different events and very good movies in the Kino. Ones a month they also arrange open stage so people can come perform live if they want. I have also performed a couple of times on this event. The place is awesome and there are great people here working and volunteering as we do. If you are in Vaasa you should definitely visit an event or just chill and have a beer or two there! If you live in Vaasa you can also become an active member like us or a supporting member that can also get discounts or free entrance to the events!

No seats left when the Danish farmer were visiting!

Venetian Party

It's quite a while ago that the Venetian festival was here in Finland, in the end of August. We celebrate the venetian because the summer cottage season is ending. There are no masks or fancy dresses like a real venetian party, just people gathering, mostly at the summer cottages, shooting fireworks. This year we celebrated it at home, with delicious pies and crayfish and a little bubbly. When it got darker we went swimming, in 41 celsius degree water! Super Hot!

The worst selfie ever!

The evening was very quiet and nice, me myself was a little (read very) sick with the flu as well so it was good to take it a little easier. Though I got more sick, probably after the really hot water and the cold air outside...

Best Buy

When I was in Indonesia, the girl I traveled with to Yogyakarta had one of those Kindle eReaders you can buy at Amazon.com. So when I got home I decided that I wanted one too, the only problem was that Amazon didn't ship to Finland or it was suuuper expensive.. So I found this one! Kobo Glo HD and it's amazing! So easy to use and it has its own light built in so you can read in the dark aswell! Kobo also has its own app where you can buy and download books in seconds and put them in your library in your Kobo eReader!
Now I don't have to bring heavy books with me in my luggage that just takes space.. I can now have thousands of books with me in my small Kobo! So if you travel a lot this is an awesome investment!

Tungevaag & Raaban

On Friday evening I attended Solar Sound Festival in Rewell Center in Vaasa. There were local DJs playing in the beginning of the evening and in the end there were Tungevaag, from Norway, and Raaban, from Sweden, playing a few tunes. To be honest I was a little disappointed that they didn't play all their songs, but we got shake our asses a whole lot so it was awesome. Visit my Instagram for a short video!

Fall/Winter Outfit

// Jeans, Stradivarius // Coat, H&M // Scarf, Louis Vuitton // Hat // Bag, Charles & Keith //

A little fall/winter outfit that I had on when I went to Wasa Teater last weekend. The hat is from Indonesia, therefore I can't remeber the brand of the hat, but you could find it anywhere there. Really basic outfit but it's great when you mix and match colours and accessories. The bag is my new baby, I love it and I bring it everywhere! Here you can also see my new purple haircut that my sister made for me!

LONDON

Finally! I'm going to London and it's gonna be awesome!
I don't know how I will fit in all the things I want to see in one week... I'm looking forward to it so bad, I just want to leave right away!
And the best part is that I'm going with my best friend L from France. We are meeting in London 24th of October, if we find our way! :D

Dip Dye

After 8 years of my own hair colour I decided to dye my hair just a little bit! So now I have a purple (or aubergine) coloured dip dye!

My sister was kind enough to dye it for me and the first pic is from when we tried it out the first time. After that she has cut my hair, cuz it was way toooooo long and dyed the purple further up on my hair. The colour blend in quite good with my natural brown colour so it doesn't look so drastical.

The second pic is from when we have dyed it further up. In the pic it's quite purple, but in real life it is a bit darker. So when ever I make a bun now its purple!

Yogya - Jakarta

Day 3 at Yogya we were going back to Jakarta, by train. We wanted to take the train to see a little of the countryside of Java. The train left a little early in the morning so we slept for  while in the train first, but the nature when I woke up was beautiful. There was mountains and rice fields and djungles. The photos are quite bad though when you take them from inside a moving train but I tried my best.
The train was almost 8 hours from Yogya to Jakarta and was very boring when you forgot your headphones in your place in Jakarta. There was some movies playing in the train so I tried focusing on that.
Back in Jakarta I went to get my passport back from the Immigration office. That was a Thursday and I was leaving to Finland on Sunday.. Guess if I was nervous that I wouldn't get it back before I had to leave... So pointers if you wanna go to Indonesia for a longer stay, get your passport renewed in time, cuz they are fluffing slow ther!

Yogyakarta Day 2

Day 2 we woke up at 3.30am as the car was going at 4am from the Hostel to the temples outside Yogya. We decided to see the temples from the mountain beside the Borobudur temple. The car drive was the bumpiest ride I have ever been on, then there was a little hike to the top of the hill. From the hill we saw the sun rise at almost exactly 6.03.
After the sunrise we took the car down to the temples; for some breakfast. A dry bread with some jam on, some weird fruits and a cup of tea. After this we went to see the mighty temple Borobudur, a buddhist temple that no one knows how it got there. It took a couple of hours and when we were done we went on to the next temple. The ride to that temple was even worse...
The next temple was called Prambanan, and was a Hindu temple. Almost as mighty as Borobudur. We were quite exhausted at this time from all the walking so it got a little boring..
When we got back to the hostel we slept for a bit before we went to the market place again to buy some souvenirs and eat some Indonesian food.

Look I'm a Buddha!

If you could touch the Buddha inside it would bring you luck!

Yogyakarta Day 1

The last week in Indonesia I didn't have any work, just holiday, so then I went traveling! I wanted to see what all the fuss was about in Yogyakarta with the temples they had there so me and a Polish girl flew to Yogya on tuesday morning the 4 of August.
We tried to take the bus to the hostel and we managed it, but when we got to the hostel we couldn't check in because it was too early. And as we flew from Jakarta 6 am we were fairly tired so we slept for a while outside the hostel in their Gazebo.
We still had to wait for a while until we got our room so we went to find the closest grocery store to find something to eat and then we went to an internet café. At 2pm we got to check in to the hostel. We then dropped our stuff there and went to see the main street in Yogya. There were a lot of stands there with souvenirs and other things to buy; and I bought myself a comfortable pair of pants. We also tried to go for a ride on a bike, it was basically a chair in front of a bike with a super old man biking around. Thank god it had a small engine, otherwise we wouldn't have got anywhere!
After this we then found our way back to the hostel for some hours of sleep before the early morning rise the next day!
