New Blog
I have started a new blog, as this one died away a little bit.. You can find my new blog at JennySofias, where I will write about my new year and country, and other stuff! So come by and follow me there instead!
Part 4: Trieste
After my stay in Stockholm for almost a week I continued my journey to Italy. I arrived in Venice and took the train to a coastal city calle Trieste. I came here to visit my friend I who was working here during the summer.
While she was working I went for a little sightseeing around town. I saw something that was probably an old amphitheatre, visited a cathedral and saw the beautiful view over Trieste from there. I tried some Italian gnocchi with bolognese, which was so much different than the gnocchi in Finland. In the evening we had some apperitivos, which means almost pre-food drinks. And of course we had a super delicious pizza.
Part 3: Stockholm
Except for the Festival I visited in Sweden I also went for a little "sightseeing", shopping and met a friend from Gothenburg during my stay. Stockholm was really beatiful during my stay and it was very warm outside to be in the beginning of June. During my stay in Stockholm I was living in my aints apartment in Fruängen, about 20min away from the centre by the underground.
Part 2: Summerburst Stockholm
My first ever festival I went to was this summer in Stockholm, to Summerburst! I thought why not go big and go to Stockholm for my first festival... and I loved it! We all did! The people in Sweden are so lovely and friendly and the atmosphere at the festival was amazing. It was a two day festival with a lot of different DJs, some from Sweden and some from other parts of the world.
David Guetta was even playing "sexy bitch" and we were reminded of some nice secondary school memories. Steve Angello from Sweden played som very nice tunes accompanied with a lot of fireworks closer to midnight. Kygo from Norway were playing "firestone" and we were relaxing with a cider. It was amazing! The most amazing moment for me was when i was jumping in the middle of the crowd to W&W's song "Spack Jarrow". Can't get better than W&W! And not to forget all the other great djs and musicians that were there! Armin van Buuren, Alesso, Icona Pop, Mike Perry, Alan Walker, and many mooooore!
Part 1: My Crazy Summer
It's absolutely crazy how much I have done this summer and yet it feels like I have done nothing! I have been traveling, chilling, working, meeting friends and doing other fun stuff! This summer has gone by way too fast and next week I am already leaving for Sweden... It's been an amazing summer and hopefully it's gonna be an even more amazing school year to come in Jönköping, Sweden!
As I have had no time to share with you my adventures during this summer, I am gonna post them here is quite many parts! :D Hopefully you will have the patient to look at all the pics and read all my stories!
End of Season
In the end of May me and my sis got dressed and went to Ritz in Vaasa. We had an end of season party for all the volunteers that have been working at Ritz this season. The dresscode was your favorite musician. But as all the musicians today dress so casual I decided to go for the 60s 70s Janis Joplin and my sis got dressed as some singer from a rock or metal band.
We got very good food at the party and we sang a lot of songs and had some games. It was a very successful party! I'm going to miss the people in the fall when I'm moving to Sweden...
Summer, is that you?
It is starting to look a lot like summer here in Finland! It's May and it is quite warm outside. Last week we had 20 degrees several days. And at this point of the year it doesn't really get dark anymore during the night! It's absolutely lovely, except if you wanna go to bed early and you can't sleep because it't bright outside.. The first picture is almost at 11 o'clock in the evening and the second is at 5.30 in the morning, so the sun is not gone for too long as you can see!
Student Life
So my student life in little Vaasa is soon coming to an end.. Feels a bit sad, but I have been dragging it out now for a while so I guess it's about time. Last week I went on my last sitz (I think) in Vaasa. It was a spring break sitz, and what better way to say that summer is coming by dressing in summer clothes!? It was as always super fun to be on a Sitz and meet new people and old of course, as there were 160 other people there! (And i totally rocked my hairstyle btw!)
Now I'm soon about to finish my thesis and hand it in for a last check before I can present it and graduate in the end of May! Summer is coming so fast now.. (even though it was snowing yesterday in Vaasa...) Soon its June, my birthday, and then off to Stockholm on Summerburst Festival! So exciting summer ahead!

Granola Bars
Me and my sister tried making some own granola bars the other day, and they turned out deliciously! We just mixed all kinds of seeds and nuts, some coconut, pitted dates, and oats. We added syrup, honey and some salt and mixed it into a dough.
When it's like a dough we just put in on an oven plate and put it in the oven on 150*c for like 15-20 minutes. After we took it from the oven we left it get a bit colder before we cut it in bars. Super easy and super delicious!
Hospital Visit
Friday was a less fun day for me, as I spent half of the day at Vaasa Hospital. I sprained my ankle so bad I thought it was off. I couldn't walk at all on it without it hurting like hell.. So the whole hospital visit I was sitting in a wheelchair and my sis was driving me around. I had to take an x-ray of my ankle to see if it was off or not but it wasn't, so I was happy it was just a bad spraining! So now I get to lay in my bed the whole weekend and finish my thesis! YEY!..
Sunday Brunch
On Sunday me and my sister met up with my friend M at Raawka in Vaasa. This is a very popular place in Vaasa that serves raw food and cakes. The place is rather tiny, but super cosy, so it is always full with people, but this time we booked a table to be able to go for brunch! And I must say it was delicious! We got a glas of champagne or kombucha and a plate full of delicious things! There was bananabread, a smoothie bowl, frittata, hummus, salad, and a sandwich with cold smoked salmon on!
The smoothie bowl I am definitely gonna try at home!
Umeå & Summertime
Last weekend me, my sister and my mom went to Umeå with boat. We went on friday morning from Vaasa harbor to go shopping at the new Ikea and shopping center right outside Umeå. We spent almost the whole day there. In the evening we also went to eat at Max burgers, the best burgers in Sweden, and it was delicious!
Saturday morning my sister had to go for an exam in Umeå, högskoleprovet. In order to get easier into school in sweden. This test took the whole day so me and my mom was shopping in the centre of Umeå meanwhile.
Hotel breakfast in Umeå
Also summer is soon here with the sun now setting at about 8 or 9pm
Last day of March
On Thursday I went to town to visit my sister. We went for a lovely dinner at Magokoro in Vaasa, which is the best sushi place i have ever been to. It is delicious and not too expensive.
After the dinner we went to an event at Marimekko. There we got some sparkling wine and snacks. We listened to the woman running the store about upcoming trends at Marimekko.
If you ever try the sushi at Magokoro these are Firecracker, California, Sunrise & Summer kiss. All super delicious!
The Life of two Crazy Sisters
Me and my sister is very close and act very silly/crazy when we are together! We come up with all sort of fun stuff together, like foot bath, but then we had only one bath to fit four feet in! And then she is always there when you are trying to take a picture :D <3
Undreground & Markets
The last post from London! It was so fun going with the underground and the stops looked all different! It was very handy with an oyster card in London, as you could travel with both underground and busses with it. During our stay in London we also visited a few markets. I especially loved the Camden market, and camden over all, with all the cool stores!
We also decided to go visit the Brittish Museum, becuase it was really close to our hostel in London. We saw all kinds of stuff, the mummies were pretty cool! And as huge of a fan I am of doctor who I found a 10 "satsumas" bill at the museum, which were used when the santa clauses attack London in one episode! The lst picture is from the theatre, were we watched the popular show Wicked. They were amazing singers and actors! Could stop singing after we had been at there!
